About Adam
Adam Fetterman is a father, husband, and public servant whose commitment to improving our quality of life on the Treasure Coast has made him an outstanding community leader. Adam possesses an unwavering belief in the power of people, and in the value of the democratic process. He understands the issues our communities face, from sky-high insurance rates to the need for affordable, sustainable communities. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Adam is dedicated to working to solve our communities’ problems. It is for these reasons that Adam is running for the Florida House of Representatives.
Adam currently serves as General Counsel to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara, where he provides critical assistance to law enforcement as they strive to protect our neighborhoods. Adam also serves as President-Elect of the Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County. Adam sees the opportunity to represent our families in the Florida House of Representatives as just one more way that he can give back to our community and serve the public interest.
Growing up in south Florida, Adam remembers the days when the beaches were uncrowded, when neighbors knew each other, and when kids could ride their bikes to school. In many ways a product of this “simpler time,” Adam developed a strong work ethic at an early age. By the age of 14, he held a job at Publix as a bag boy and worked alongside his parents at their small law firm. While still in high school, he became a spokesman for the local blood bank to encourage his fellow community members to give blood.
As an honors graduate of Palm Beach Gardens High School, Adam attended Brandeis University outside Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. Adam then attended the University of Miami School of Law, where he excelled on the national trial competition team and served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Miami Business Law Journal. While attending law school, Adam gained invaluable experience working for the Florida Attorney General’s Office, United States Magistrate Judge Ted Bandstra, and the Broward County Public Defender’s Office. He graduated cum laude in 1998.
After completing law school, Adam and his then-fiancé, Mindi, headed to the mountains of North Carolina where they were married in the fall of 1999. In North Carolina, Adam began practicing law in the areas of estate and charitable planning, assisting his neighbors in the creation of their charitable legacies. Adam also served as president of an affordable housing non-profit corporation because he believed that nothing could compare with the joy of handing the house keys to a hard-working family of first-time homebuyers.
Adam and Mindi returned to Florida to start a family and to continue their lives of service. Adam worked with the Law Team of Fetterman and Associates, protecting the rights of working families and seeking to bring justice to those without a voice. In 2005, their beautiful son Noah joined the family. In 2006, he joined the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, where he could further his commitment to the community by working to keep our neighborhoods safe and our businesses prospering. Adam’s work with the Sheriff’s Office and his leadership with the Boys and Girls Club have enabled him to work to ensure a brighter future for every child in our community.
As a husband, father, and community leader, Adam Fetterman is deeply committed to working to improve the quality of life in the Treasure Coast. His vision for the Treasure Coast’s future includes sustainable growth that balances the interests of economic development, affordability, and environmental protection. It includes a commitment to improving our schools and drawing down health and homeowners insurance rates. Finally, Adam’s vision includes future-focused investment in bio-fuel production, designed to unite agriculture and industry in the quest for greater energy independence.
Adam Fetterman is a public servant with a vision for our community’s future. He’s ready to lead and he’s ready to serve.
